Top Ten Hyped Books I've Never Read

This week's Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, is ten books that are hyped up, but I've never read them.  I'm not entirely sure if all the books I've listed are widely considered to be hyped, but in my perspective they are!  Also, there are plenty of hyped books I haven't read that I'm never actually planning to read, so I've tried to get this list to stick with books I actually have intentions of picking up in the future.

All the books are linked to their Goodreads page, so if you don't know them (which I doubt will be the case) you can go ahead and click on the cover of interest.

Anyway, a lot of these are relatively old books that I really should read soon!  I was on the bus on the way to my camp last week and I was chatting about books with the girl sitting next to me, and one of her favourite series is Eragon and I had to admit that I hadn't read it yet!  And I own the books too, so I have no excuse.  So, I'll probably be trying that this year at some stage.   Vicious has also been calling to me lately, so I'm expecting to pick that up as well.

Let me know what you thought of these, and link me to your top ten too! :)

  1. I actually adored 'The Program' and 'Graceling'. Haha.
'Graceling' had Katsa. She was so cool and kickass. I loved her character. But the romance DID seem rushed. Why don't you want to read it?
'The Program' has some touchy subject, so I can see why you don't want to read it. But don't let that despair you! It's not bad. The romance is annoying. (But I have a problem with romance.) And the characters are odd. But the story isn't too bad!

    1. I'm glad you liked them!
I do want to read them, I just haven't got around to them yet :)
I've heard nothing but good things about Katsa, so you've just reinforced that! Too bad that the romance in The Program is annoying.

  2. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is really amazing! At least, I thought it deserves all the hype it gets
I'm planning on reading Ready Player One too! But I've heard so many things about it, I have to say I'm sacred it'll disappoint me

    1. I haven't heard a bad thing about Aristotle and Dante! I'm glad that you loved it.
Yeah I'm definitely scared I'll be disappointed too - especially since I've heard there are lots of references to the 80s and I probably won't catch them.
Happy to hear from you Constance! :)

    2. That's because there's nothing bad about it :D (Okay no, don't listen to me. I love this book too much, and if you end up reading it I don't want to give you too-high expectations)
I hadn't heard that, but now I'm worrying about it too aha. I think I might read it soon though, because I kind of want to read Ernest Cline's new book as well, but I feel like I need to read Ready Player One first, for some reason.
Yeah, I'm happy to come back :D

    3. Haha well I should be reading it soon, because I've put it on hold from the library. I don't think I have too high expectations, because I don't really even know what the book is about!
Oh sorry for bringing that to your attention then! I know what you mean - I feel the same way.
      Yay! :)

  3. Game of Thrones, The Final Empire and Read Player One, I APPROVE!!!

I need to read Aristotle and Dante (my sister is reading it now and loving it!) and Vicious (it's ridiculous I haven't read that one yet honestly....). I've also read Eragon but I gave up on the series after the second book. I tried reading the 3rd one but I couldn't pass two chapters. Too much time had passed between the 2nd and the 3rd book and I couldn't remember most of it so yeah, I gave up lol

    1. Hahaha I knew you would.
I'm happy to hear that your sister is loving Aristotle and Dante!
That's too bad that you gave up on Eragon. It's such a pain when a lot of time passes in between sequels.

  4. Graceling wasn't bad but I certainly didn't become a fan of the author. My friend did, though, she's even re-read the books a couple of times. The 5th Wave was such a disappointment for me. I expected something awesome because people seem to like it but I couldn't stand the characters and the story wasn't that great either. Uglies is good, not a favorite but definitely very unique and enjoyable. Hope you'll love these books. :)

    1. Ooooh, this is interesting news. I wonder if I'll be more like you or your friend.
It's a shame you didn't love The 5th Wave - to be honest, I'm not sure if I'll like it. Annoying characters are the worst.
Thanks - I do too lol!

  5. I love love love The 5th Wave and Graceling is awesome, I think it was one of the first ya fantasy books I picked up. I just bough Vicious and cannot wait to start it. I wasn't impressed with Uglies and I only read The Program, not the sequel because I didn't feel as interested as time passed.
